Universal allocation per child : ウィキペディア英語版 | Universal allocation per child The universal allocation per child ((スペイン語:Asignación universal por hijo)) is an unemployment insurance program in Argentina. It pays a monthly fee to the poor families, for each son that they have. Despite the name, it is not universal, and only the people under the poverty threshold may receive it. The distribution is thus controversial, because of the manipulation of such threshold by the INDEC.〔Mendelevich, p. 32〕 It was established in 2009 by a Necessity and Urgency Decree, so that the president Cristina Fernández de Kirchner could take credit for it, as Elisa Carrió had proposed a similar law in the Congress.〔Mendelevich, p. 32-33〕 ==References==
